This sphygmomanometer is a professional quality device used to measure blood pressure. The set comprises an inflatable cuff to restrict blood flow and a mechanical monometer to measure the pressure. To get an accurate reading the sphygmomanometer should be used in conjunction with a means to determine at what pressure blood flow is just starting, and at what pressure it is unimpeded. Manual sphygmomanometers are used in conjunction with a stethoscope. This set includes a medical single head stethoscope to enable accurate readings and measurements. To ensure you take an accurate reading you must ensure the cuff is placed correctly on the upper arm, at roughly the same vertical height as the heart while the subject is seated with the arm supported. This is not an automatic BP set and some practice and training may be required if you have not previously used this type of equipment.
